Mahasamund. A training-cum-meeting of political parties was organized under the chairmanship of Collector and District Election Officer Prabhat Malik to provide necessary information to the candidates for filing nominations for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. On this occasion, necessary guidelines were provided by the Collector and District Election Officer. He said that at the time of filing nomination, only a maximum of five persons including the candidate can enter the Returning Officer’s room and at the time of scrutiny only four persons can enter. Additional Collector and Deputy District Election Officer Nirbhay Sahu said that only three vehicles can come within 100 meters of the Collector’s office when it comes to filing nominations.
District Master Trainer Toshan Giri Goswami said that the candidate will have to give an affidavit in Format 26 along with the nomination form in which he will have to give information about the bank accounts of his spouse, dependents etc. The candidate will have to give information about all movable and immovable properties and liabilities like agricultural land, commercial building, cash amount, jewellery, vehicles etc. in the affidavit.
Each page of this affidavit should have the signature of the candidate and the seal of a public notary or a competent magistrate. All the columns of the affidavit should be filled. This affidavit must be submitted by 3 pm on the last day of nomination filing. On this occasion, Daulal Chandrakar of Indian National Congress, Yetram Sahu of Bharatiya Janata Party and representatives of other political parties were present.
