CHENNAI: Three district managers of state-owned Tasmac have been booked recently by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) after it was found that a supervisor in a retail outlet of Tiruvannamalai allegedly misappropriated `46 lakh from the daily earnings from July 2016 to March 2018.
The FIR indicates how the supervisor would deposit a few lakhs of rupees less than the counter earnings from the sale of alcohol in the state government’s bank account.
DVAC said P Arivazhagan, a supervisor at the Tasmac retail shop number 9321 in Arni taluk, was involved in this practice. The difference in the earnings and the amount deposited to the bank account were to the tune of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh per month during the period under investigation.
