Villagers of Bhotiya tribe, who were going to inspect the damage caused by snowfall in Neeti village, returned from Farkiya village. There is about three feet of snow accumulated on the Malari-Neeti highway ahead of the village.
Villagers said, the Niti Highway beyond Farkiya village is covered with snow, while the houses are covered with snow. At the same time, about two feet of snow is still accumulated in Malari. On Monday, the villagers of Bhotia tribe, who were going to take stock of the damage caused by snowfall in Neeti village, had to return from Farkiya village.
Pushkar Singh Rana, village head of Kaga village, said, there is about three feet of snow accumulated on the highway beyond Farkiya village, due to which vehicles are not able to reach Neeti village. Snow removal work is being done here by BRO. At the same time, there are icebergs on the highway near Kali Mandir and Bhapkund, but BRO has opened the highway after cutting the iceberg.
Said, the villagers of Neeti Valley reside in the low lying areas of the district in winters, while they reach their native villages in the month of April for summers, but this time due to excessive snowfall in the valley, the villagers may have to face problems.
