Ranchi: Rahul Singh gang demands ₹2 crore, threatens businessman

Ranchi: A WhatsApp call demanding ₹2 crore in ransom has surfaced from a businessman in the Ratu police station area of Ranchi. He was threatened with death with an AK-47 and bombs if he failed to pay. The victim has filed an application with the police station demanding action.
Victim Mukesh Kumar Srivastava, a resident of Vivekananda Colony, Ratu, stated in his application to the police that on April 26, 2026, at 11:42 a.m., he received a WhatsApp call from the international number 351961904586. The caller, identifying himself as “Rahul Singh,” demanded he pay ₹2 crore (20 million rupees) within eight days.
According to the application, a threatening WhatsApp message was sent a few minutes after the call at 11:52 am. The message stated that their every move was being monitored and that they should have ₹2 crore ready within five days. Furthermore, if they failed to pay, they were threatened with death by bombs and AK-47s. The message ended with a group identifying themselves as the “Rahul Singh Gang.”
Following the incident, the businessman filed a written complaint at the Ratu police station. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation based on the number. They are also gathering information about the call’s location and the gang involved.
