Stalin’s reaction to the anti-corruption raid on E.V. Velu’s house: DMK will not be intimidated.

Tamil Nadu: Political activity in the state has intensified following a raid conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau at the residence of former minister and DMK leader E.V. Velu. Reacting to this action, DMK chief and former Chief Minister M.K. Stalin stated that his party would not be intimidated by any threats and would face every action through legal means.

The raid took place at E.V. Velu’s residence in the southern region of Tiruvannamalai district. Officials remained at the house throughout the operation, conducting their investigation. The former minister cooperated fully with the probe and provided all necessary information. Reports indicate that he is preparing to challenge the matter legally.

The political atmosphere heated up further following the raid, prompting M.K. Stalin to share his reaction on the social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday. In his post, he asserted that the DMK would not be cowed by threats, noting that the party’s history is defined by a legacy of struggle and triumph.

He further stated that allegations in several cases linked to the DMK’s political stance have remained unproven. He claimed that such cases are merely intended to exert political pressure, yet his party confronts every allegation by adhering to the legal process.

M.K. Stalin added that the DMK is not a movement that succumbs to pressure or intimidation. He affirmed that the party has faced severe opposition and repression in the past and remains ready to confront any challenge in the future. He also wrote that his party would continue to advance on the path of truth and justice.

This incident has once again heightened tensions between the ruling party and the opposition in Tamil Nadu politics. While the opposition suggests that such actions may be politically motivated, the authorities maintain that the investigation is being conducted impartially, solely to ensure compliance with the law. Reactions—ranging from arguments to expressions of disapproval—have emerged from the DMK following the development. In various quarters, the party voiced its dissatisfaction with the action, attributing it to political pressure. Meanwhile, it has been clarified at the national level that the investigation will proceed and all necessary legal measures will be taken.

The incident has intensified the war of words in state politics, and further political posturing on the issue is expected in the coming days. The ongoing tussle between the ruling party and the opposition has once again brought the narrative of nationalism to the fore, further heating up the state’s political climate.
