Raipur. On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, 160 ITIs of the state are being upgraded as model ITIs to provide employment to the youth of Chhattisgarh. For this, approval of Rs 484 crore 22 lakh has been issued by the Employment and Training Department. After upgradation to model ITI, the youth will be able to get training as per the demand of local industries.
Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma has described the upgradation to model ITI as a big achievement for the youth of the state. He said that as per the wishes of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, a plan has been prepared to upgrade the ITI of the state to model ITI. He informed that in the first phase of the scheme, a three-year proposal of Rs 484.22 crore has been approved for 160 ITIs of the state. The work of making the ITI located at Sakri in Balodabazar a model ITI will start soon. For this, approval of an amount of Rs 20 crore 13 lakh has been issued under the SIDBI scheme.
Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma said that various trades of Sakri Government ITI of Balodabazar will be upgraded and infrastructure works will be done. Rs 3 crore 23 lakh has been released for machine tools and equipment in Government Industrial Training Institute. This includes Rs 1 crore 5 lakh for computer, hardware and network maintenance, Rs 75 lakh for electrician, Rs 46 lakh for fitter, Rs 44 lakh for mechanic diesel and Rs 53 lakh for welder. Similarly, in civil work, Rs 3 crore 44 lakh has been approved for construction of new building of ITI, Rs 7 lakh 42 thousand for guard room, Rs 1 crore 25 lakh for parking of motor vehicles, Rs 11 crore 78 lakh for construction of staff quarters and Rs 34 lakh 80 thousand for entrance gate and boundary wall.
