Request to set up maize purchasing centers

Kubhir: BRS Mandal Party President Ennila Anil has alleged that the Congress government in the state has completely failed to provide support prices for the crops grown by farmers. On Friday, he handed over a petition to Kubhir Tehsildar Shivraj of Nirmal district to set up plant purchase centers.

Speaking on the occasion, he expressed his anger that it is strange that the centers have not opened even though almost a month has passed since the maize crop was harvested. He expressed his concern that maize farmers are selling their quintals for Rs. 1700 in private and are losing Rs. 25 thousand to Rs. 30 thousand per acre.

He alleged that the government played the same game even when soybeans, sorghum and peanuts were available to farmers. He said that during the KCR government’s tenure, 24-hour agricultural electricity, Rythu Bandhu, agricultural insurance facilities for farmers, and adequate supply of fertilizers were provided to farmers to strengthen them financially.

Movement leaders Puppala Peeraji, former Mandal Parishad vice-presidents Mohiuddin, Sapa Pothana, Pogula Pothana, Pogula Linganna, Dattatri, Kashinath, Nagesh, farmers and activists participated in this program. BRS leaders honored movement leader Peeraji on his birthday.
