Raipur: Police have arrested Ravi Dubey, an accused who was absconding for two years, for cheating a person of Rs 3 lakh by promising to get a personal loan of Rs 5 crore at Devendra Nagar police station in the capital Raipur. Accused Dubey is a resident of Bilaspur. He was absconding after the crime was registered in 2022. He was living in other states under a changed name. Ravi Dubey is the director of Shri Ganapati Finance Company / RSD Alpha Finance Company.
Contractor Abhay Kale had lodged a report that he needed money for business work. He contacted the company through an employee. He and his business partner Jai Kumar Sao went to meet Ravi Dubey, director of the finance company, at his office in Pandri Kapda Market. Ravi Dubey assured to get a loan of Rs 5 crore after checking various documents.
Ravi got the contract done by submitting the documents. Ravi demanded three lakh rupees as processing fee for getting the loan, which was deposited in the bank account of Ganpati Finance Company through RTGS. When the loan was not given within 25 days as per the contract, Ravi started making excuses when contacted. After a few days, Ravi even stopped picking up the phone. After a few days, it was found out that the office had been closed due to non-payment of rent. After this, he absconded.
