Punjab: Khalsa Sajna Diwas celebrated with great fervor at the Golden Temple
Punjab: On the auspicious occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas, Sikh devotees from across the world gathered in large numbers at the Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) in Amritsar, Punjab. The entire complex was filled with reverence, devotion, and enthusiasm, as thousands of devotees listened to Gurbani and participated in Ardaas. Khalsa Sajna Diwas is considered a very important day in Sikh history, marking the establishment of the Khalsa Panth. Every year, the Sikh community across the world celebrates this day with great reverence. This year too, devotees from India and abroad paid obeisance at the Golden Temple and received Guru Maharaj’s blessings.
In Amritsar, the crowd of devotees began to swell from the morning. Special diwans were held in the Gurdwara complex, where a Kirtan Darbar was organized. The Sangat bowed before the Guru Granth Sahib and pledged to imbibe the message of peace, prosperity, and humanity. The administration had made strict security arrangements in view of the massive crowd of devotees. Police and voluntary organizations played a vital role in crowd control and maintaining order. Thousands of people partook of prasad at the langar service, reflecting the spirit of service inherent in the Sikh tradition. Sikh devotees from abroad expressed that Khalsa Sajna Day is not merely a religious celebration for them, but a symbol of identity and faith. They expressed that visiting the Golden Temple brings them spiritual peace and a deep reverence for the Guru.
At Harmandir Sahib, the entire complex was decorated with lights and flowers for the occasion. The view of the Golden Temple at night was captivating, filling the devotees with spiritual joy. According to religious scholars, the establishment of the Khalsa Panth marked a new chapter in Sikh history, strengthening the spirit of equality, courage, and service. This day continues to remind us of the values on which Sikhism is based. The atmosphere remained peaceful and devotional throughout the event. The administration appealed for cooperation from devotees and successfully maintained the arrangements. Thus, Khalsa Sajna Day once again united the Sikh community worldwide, conveying the message of devotion, service, and unity.
