Applications open for three-year LLB course in Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University

Tamil Nadu: The admission process for the three-year LLB (Bachelor of Law) degree course for the academic session 2026-27 has begun at Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU) and its affiliated government and private law colleges. Interested candidates can apply online starting Monday, June 29th. The university administration has made all admission-related information available on the official website.
A press release issued by the university’s Registrar, Gauri Ramesh, stated that applications have also been invited for the three-year LLB (Hons) degree course at the prestigious School of Excellence in Law at the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University in Perungudi, Chennai. The admission process for the same course has also begun at all government and private law colleges affiliated to the university.
According to the press release, the Tamil Nadu government has entrusted the university with the responsibility of conducting the admission process at the affiliated law colleges. All admissions will be conducted through a unified single-window system. The objective of this system is to provide admission to all eligible candidates through a transparent and simple process.
The university has clarified that candidates seeking admission to the three-year LLB course for the year 2026-27 must apply online only. The application process will be completed through the university’s official website. No offline applications will be accepted.
The deadline for submitting applications for admission has been set as July 19th. The university administration has appealed to candidates to complete the application process on time without waiting for the deadline to avoid any technical difficulties.
A total of 27 law colleges are currently affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University. These include 15 government and 12 private law colleges. A total of approximately 1,700 seats are available this year for the three-year LLB course across these institutions.
These seats include 156 seats in the university’s School of Excellence in Law. Additionally, admissions will be offered to approximately 1,541 seats in government and private law colleges affiliated with the university. All seats will be allocated based on established rules and a single-window counseling process.
The university administration states that the entire admission process has been made more transparent, convenient, and timely through the online application system. Candidates will be able to access all information related to filling out applications, uploading required documents, and further admission procedures on the official website.
Registrar Gauri Ramesh stated that all guidelines related to the admission process are available on the website. Candidates should carefully review the eligibility criteria, required documents, reservation rules, and other important conditions before applying to avoid any errors.
The university also stated that the entire admission process in affiliated government and private law colleges will be conducted under uniform rules. Seat allocation through a single-window system will provide equal opportunity to all candidates and ensure a more systematic admission process.
