New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi have expressed deep shock over the horrific fire incident at a nightclub in Goa. They said the incident at Birs Nightclub was very sad. They expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. This was posted on Ex-Vedika.
President Draupadi Murmu said that she was deeply disturbed by the fire incident. She said that it was saddening that some people lost their lives in the incident. She expressed her deepest condolences to the families of the victims. She wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Prime Minister Modi said that the fire incident in the nightclub is sad. He expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. He wished the injured a speedy recovery. He said that he had spoken to Goa CM Pramod Sawant about the incident. He said that the state government has taken necessary relief measures for the victims. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs. 50 thousand for the injured.
A gas cylinder exploded at the popular Birs nightclub on Romeo Lane in Arpora, North Goa, on Saturday night. At least 25 people were killed and around 50 injured. The victims included three women and four tourists. It is reported that 16 of the dead were club staff. Three of them were trapped in the fire and died, while the rest died of suffocation.
