Nizamabad police launch awareness campaign for a drug-free society

Nizamabad: Nizamabad Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya on Sunday stated that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in the sale or use of drugs, including marijuana, and appealed to the public for cooperation in creating a drug-free society.
Addressing a 2K race organized by the Nizamabad Rural Police within the commissionerate’s limits, he said, “Our goal is to create a drug-free society, and for this, the cooperation of the public, youth, and media is essential,” and appealed to citizens to share information by calling 1908 or 100.
The race was flagged off at the bypass junction and proceeded to the IDOC office. The commissioner stated that the country’s future depends on the youth and emphasized that if their strengths and abilities are channeled properly, they will contribute to society’s progress. He further stated that sports and exercise are essential for a healthy lifestyle and should be made a habit.
Referring to the increasing use of drugs, he said that young people should not fall prey to drugs due to mental stress and should avoid such habits. He said, “Say no to drugs, say yes to life. Listen to the good advice of parents and teachers. Do work that benefits society. If you follow the right path, you will bring glory to your family and society.”
Students from various educational institutions performed dances and skits depicting the harmful effects of marijuana.
Additional DCP (Admin) G. Basava Reddy, ACP Prakash, Traffic ACP Mastan Ali, Rural Inspector Srinivas, and students from Giriraj College, CSI College, Vivekananda High School, Government DIET College, SC Hostel, DS Technology, and other institutions participated in the program.
