Muzaffarpur: Police has arrested a culprit of a biker gang who carried out three consecutive petrol pump robberies in Rampurhari, Panapur and Kanti police station areas of Muzaffarpur with a loaded pistol and Rs 30,000 cash. The culprit arrested is Dheeraj Kumar, a resident of Jadu Dabra Pokhar Mohalla in Panapur, who has a long criminal history. At the time of arrest, two of Dheeraj’s companions escaped by dodging the police. ASP East Shahreyar Akhtar said that SIT was formed to uncover the petrol pump loot case.
In the investigation team, Rampurhari police station in-charge, Panapur police station in-charge and DIU were included under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police East-1. Meanwhile, in the evening, secret information was received that the criminals involved in the petrol pump robbery incident are standing with a motorcycle at Shahpur turn. When SHO Rampurhari reached Shahpur turn with police force, he saw three persons standing with a motorcycle. They were trying to run away after seeing the police vehicle. They were chased away with the help of police force. One of the three criminals who were running away was caught. During interrogation, he told his name as Dheeraj Kumar. Two youths managed to escape on a motorcycle.
ASP told that Dheeraj has accepted his involvement in the incident during interrogation. He has told the names of the two companions who ran away. ASP told that a case is registered against Dheeraj in Maniyari and Baruraj police station. After interrogation, he was sent to judicial custody.
Dheeraj, arrested in the robbery case, told the police that only Rs 2700 was looted from MLA Raju Singh’s pump. But after seeing the news of Rs 2.70 lakh loot in the newspaper, there was a dispute among the robbers. They suspected that someone has hidden the money. Everyone went to the temple and took an oath, then the fight ended.
