Raigarh. SP Divyang Patel had expressed strong objection in the last crime meeting regarding absconding of the accused in serious crimes and all the in-charges were directed to make meaningful efforts to arrest the absconding accused immediately, in which the team of Lailunga police station in-charge Inspector Rajesh Jangde has been on the run for the last 6 months. The absconding murder accused Ganpat Sarathi, resident of Naharpara Lailunga, has been arrested from Raigarh this morning and sent on judicial remand.
According to the information, on 03.09.2023, information about the dead body of a 30-35 year old woman lying in the passenger waiting room located at village Chilkaguda Chowk under Lailunga police station area was received by Lailunga police through Kotwar Lodho Chauhan of village Laripani. As soon as the information was received, Lailunga police reached the spot, where the deceased was identified as Kamla Sarathi, 35-year-old woman, husband Ganpat Sarathi, resident of village Sagarpali police station Lailunga. After giving information to the heirs of the deceased, they were summoned to the spot. On interrogating the heirs, they told that Ganpat Sarathi worked as a driver and had kept Kamala Sarathi as his wife for about a year. Kamla Sarathi was previously married. A month ago, Kamla (deceased) had left her sister’s house in Ganpat village Sagarpali and went to earn food. He came to Sagarpali on 30/08/2023 with his wife on the day of Rakshabandhan. On 02/09/2023, both were to go to Champa and at night both Kamla and Ganpat stayed in the passenger waiting room of Chilkaguda. Next day, I went to village Kotwar passenger waiting room, Chilkaguda, where when I interrogated the deceased’s husband Ganpat, he told that he had beaten his wife Kamala in the night and after some time, he ran away from there. Kamala died due to serious injuries on her face and forehead due to the assault.
