Chhattisgarh is playing an important role in realizing India’s dream of Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The foundation stone of Chhattisgarh’s first semiconductor unit has been laid in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar at a cost of Rs 1100 crore. The progress of developed Chhattisgarh has been given a new impetus by laying the foundation stone of the plant of Polymatech Electronics Private Limited, the country’s renowned semiconductor manufacturing company. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the facilities and conveniences being provided by the state under the new industrial policy and ease of doing business have created a new environment for investment in the state. Semiconductor manufacturing company Polymatech had also expressed its desire to invest in Chhattisgarh at the Investment Summit held in Delhi and within just three months the work of Bhoomi Pujan was completed. This shows the success of ease of doing business in Chhattisgarh.
While the establishment of a semiconductor plant in Chhattisgarh will lead to the manufacture of chips on a large scale, a large number of employment opportunities will also be available to the youth with technical education. The state government is not only focusing on semiconductor manufacturing but is also working on a plan to create an entire eco-system for semiconductors, which will include a complete system from chip design to manufacturing and packaging. Promoting new and technical industries like Artificial Intelligence Data Center by the state government will promote technical education in the state as well as new employment opportunities will also increase. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the mantra that at least one chip in the world’s computers should be made in India. He has launched the Semiconductor Mission to ensure 10 percent participation in the global semiconductor market by the year 2030. The importance and utility of semiconductors can be understood in simple words as follows. Just as petrol is the fuel for vehicles, in the same way semiconductors are the brain and operator of modern electronic devices. Semiconductors play a central role in mobile, laptop, automobile, defense equipment, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, drones and smart devices. The Chhattisgarh government has implemented a new industrial policy a few months ago, as a result of which investment proposals worth Rs 5.5 lakh crore have been received so far from the investor summits held in metropolitan cities. The state government is providing many types of facilities along with special grants to encourage investors. The state government is encouraging investment not only in semiconductors, but also in artificial intelligence and IT sectors. The country’s first AI data center park is being built in Nava Raipur, which will make Chhattisgarh emerge as a major technology hub.
