House Help Rescued From Bed Box in Guwahati; Viral Video Surfaces

Guwahati: A minor girl was doing housework in a house. The family members were harassing her. The authorities checked on the information of the locals. However, the family members hid the girl in a bed box. (House Help Girl In Bed Box) This video clip has gone viral on social media. This incident took place in Guwahati, the capital of Assam. A 13-year-old girl is a maid in the house of Arena Laskar Khatun. The minor girl has been doing housework for the past six years. She is being tortured and physically abused.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Child Labor Task Force was alerted by information from locals. On February 1, district labor officials and police reached the house in the presence of a magistrate. However, the owner of the house said that the girl was not working in their house and that her father had taken her away four days ago.

On the other hand, the authorities did not believe this. They searched all the rooms and places in the house. They checked the bed where the person was sleeping in one room. When the bed box was opened, the girl hidden inside came out. They found out that she had been hidden in the bed box for about 25 minutes. The minor girl was rescued.
