Tamil Nadu: Marking of voting machines to begin tomorrow

Tamil Nadu: The Election Commission has announced that the process of uploading symbols to electronic voting machines will begin on Thursday (April 16).
It has also been reported that the second phase of rotational allocation of electronic voting machines and Voter Verification Machines (VVPATs) through computer software will be completed by then. In this regard, Tamil Nadu Chief Election Officer Archana Patnaik issued an announcement: Electronic voting machines and acknowledgment slip machines that have been tested have been allotted on a rotational basis in the first phase. Therefore, the second phase of rotational allocation will be completed in a day or two.

The process of uploading candidate names and symbols to electronic voting machines will begin on April 16. This process will be conducted in the presence of the candidates or their representatives.
Details of the electronic voting machines and ballot paper machines provided for each polling station will be shared with all candidates. The notification states that the voting machines will be used based on these details during the elections.
