Bhopal: Just before Rakshabandhan, the Madhya Pradesh government has given a big gift to the ‘Laadli sisters’. Beneficiary women of the ‘Laadli Behna’ scheme will now get gas cylinders for Rs 450. Currently, the Madhya Pradesh gas cylinder is Rs 848, so they will have to pay almost half the price. The cost of Rs 399 per cylinder will be borne by the state government. The Madhya Pradesh cabinet approved this decision on Tuesday.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya informed about this after the cabinet meeting. He said, ‘Under the Laadli Behna scheme, we have decided to give gas cylinders to all the beneficiaries of this scheme for Rs 450. A gas cylinder is currently available for Rs 848. Ladli sisters will have to pay Rs 450 in this. The state government will reimburse Rs 399. About 160 crore rupees will be spent on this.’
The cabinet has also taken an important decision for Anganwadi workers. Under Saksham Anganwadi Poshan Yojana, all Anganwadi sisters will be covered under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. The state government will pay its premium. 57 thousand 324 Anganwadi workers of the state will get its benefit.
