Gadwal: Gadwal Congress leaders protest against defection of BRS MLA
Gadwal: Congress leaders from Gadwal constituency are opposing the proposed induction of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Krishnamohan Reddy into the party and have decided to discuss the issue with the state leadership at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday. There are reports that the BRS MLA is planning to join the Congress and it is also learnt that he has already met some senior party leaders. However, Zilla Parishad chairperson Saritha, who lost the Assembly election against the BRS MLA, is opposing his joining the Congress. In this regard, she recently met Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi and asked him to pressurise the party leadership not to allow the entry of the BRS MLA.
With the party leadership keen to encourage his joining the Congress, Saritha along with her supporters decided to discuss the matter with senior leaders at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday afternoon. Her supporters are objecting to Krishnamohan Reddy joining the Congress. On Thursday, one of his supporters, Prasad, who is around 25 years old, climbed a mobile network tower at Nallagunta in the city and threatened to jump off the tower. Party workers accompanying him staged a protest at the tower and raised slogans against the BRS MLA. Police reached the spot after being alerted by local residents and appealed to Prasad not to take any extreme step. After a few hours, he came down and police heaved a sigh of relief.
