Don’t raise slogans for me, put up hoardings of central schemes: Rajasthan’s new BJP president

Jaipur (IANS) | Newly appointed Rajasthan BJP president Chandra Prakash Joshi on Monday took charge at the party headquarters in Jaipur, where he asked BJP workers not to raise slogans for him or waste time in welcoming him. Rather advised them to put up hoardings of central schemes and not of leaders. Addressing the workers, he said, I tell all of you, never raise slogans for me. I am a common worker like you. The party wanted to hand over this responsibility to a worker. That’s why I have been made the president. The chairman has a role, but we all will work together.

Joshi said that people wanted me to sit on their shoulders and go to the state office. However, I refused and told them that I felt pushed and pulled in the crowd like a common worker. In the same way, let me feel the push and the pull. That’s where the real fun is.

Joshi said, we do not have to waste time in reception. Now the schemes of the Center have to be promoted all over Rajasthan. Be it the rail budget or the construction of the Ram temple. Hoardings have to be put up for all of them, not for any leader. Speaking on the killing of Kanhaiyalal in Udaipur, Joshi said, Kanhaiya’s neck has not been cut in Udaipur, but the Congress government’s neck has been cut. Those who helped Kanhaiya are getting threats today. It would not be good if they faced any problem.

During the swearing-in ceremony, former state president Satish Poonia bowed down from the stage and thanked the people. Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi left for Jaipur by road along with his supporters from Delhi at 7 am on Monday. He was warmly welcomed by BJP workers at various places.
