Congratulations to the new government in Tamil Nadu, PMK raises demands for prohibition and caste census

Tamil Nadu: Reactions are pouring in from political parties following the formation of the new government in Tamil Nadu. Leaders from various parties have congratulated Vijay and his team on assuming the Chief Ministership and expressed their views on several important issues.
Anbumani Ramadoss, while congratulating the new Tamil Nadu government, said that the public has high expectations from the new leadership team. He said that many issues related to the state’s development and social reform should be addressed expeditiously.
On behalf of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), Anbumani clarified that the party will continue to press for complete prohibition in Tamil Nadu. According to him, prohibition is a necessary step for social and family reform, which the government should prioritize.
He also demanded a caste-based census. He said that clear caste data is essential for the proper implementation of social justice policies, ensuring that the benefits of schemes reach the right sections.
Anbumani also stated that the election promises made by Thaveka should be fulfilled as soon as possible. He expressed hope that the new government would take the promises made to the public seriously and implement them in a timely manner.
The PMK leader also clarified that his party would support the government in all initiatives that are in the public interest. He stated that the PMK would play the role of a responsible opposition and that any mistakes by the government would be exposed democratically.
Political analysts believe that this stance by the PMK indicates a balanced relationship with the new government. While support has been assured, pressure has also been exerted on issues such as prohibition and the caste census.
Following the formation of the new government, a period of both cooperation and criticism has begun in Tamil Nadu politics. Various parties are closely monitoring the government according to their respective agendas.
At present, the eyes of the people of the state are on how fast the new government implements its election promises and what steps are taken on the issues raised by the opposition parties.
