Budget priorities will contribute to India’s overall national strength: Jaishankar
New Delhi New Delhi. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Tuesday congratulated Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a budget that advances the goal of developed India and meets the aspirations of the people who brought the NDA government to power for the third consecutive time. He said that the priorities stated by the Finance Minister regarding the budget will contribute to the overall national strength of India and this will further strengthen India’s image on the international stage.
Jaishankar wrote on social media ‘X’ after the Finance Minister presented the budget, Congratulations to Finance Minister Sitharaman for presenting a budget that advances the goal of developed India. This is the answer to the aspirations of the people who have given the NDA government the mandate for the third consecutive time. The 9 priorities stated by the Finance Minister will contribute to the overall national strength of India. This will enhance our image on the international stage. The budget provides resources to the Ministry of External Affairs to implement key policies including ‘Neighbor First’, ‘Act East’, Global South and facilities for Indians traveling abroad.
The Government of India is committed to further strengthen foreign policy and improve India’s international image. According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, out of the total budget of Rs 48,20,512 crore for 2024-25, Rs 22,155 crore will be spent on foreign affairs. Apart from this, the Finance Minister has also proposed to reduce the corporate tax rate on foreign companies from 40 percent to 35 percent with the aim of attracting foreign capital to meet India’s development needs.
