New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested an accused from Bihar who used to supply SIM cards to international cyber criminals. Police say that 5,000 SIM cards and 25 mobiles have been recovered from the accused named Anuj Kumar. He used to sell SIM cards to people in China, Cambodia and other South Asian countries.

According to the agency, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Ravi Kumar Singh said that the CA of a company had lodged a complaint that a person had cheated him of Rs 20 lakh by claiming himself to be the director of the company. In this case, the team of Cyber ​​Police Station of South East Delhi started investigating the matter. The cyber team traced the accused named Anuj with the help of mobile numbers and technical team. After this, the accused named Anuj Kumar was arrested from Gaya, Bihar.

Police say that this accused used to provide SIM cards to international cyber criminals. These SIM cards were used in many types of cyber crimes including digital arrest, fraud in the name of investment. Police said that during interrogation it was revealed that Anuj was the mastermind of the network. He sells SIM cards. Anuj was taking advantage of Gaya being a major tourist spot for South Asian travelers to carry out his operation.

A large number of international tourists from South Asia come to Gaya in Bihar. The accused used to sell illegally purchased SIM cards to them. By setting up SIM vending camps in rural areas to buy cards in bulk, four to five SIM cards were issued on a single identity by completing the SIM registration process.

These SIMs were delivered to tourists internationally through Gaya and Nepal, making it possible to use these SIMs for cyber fraud. Police said that this accused used to supply SIM cards to cyber criminals. Police say that Anuj has so far supplied more than 1000 illegal SIM cards outside India. SIMs of other companies have also been found from the accused along with 3400 SIM cards. This entire matter is being investigated.
