Bhopal: Metro shows a declining trend in ridership

Madhya Pradesh: The number of people traveling on the metro between the eight stations of the Priority Corridor is decreasing with each passing day. However, metro officials said this trend is usually seen in the first phase of operation in any city.

They said that once the metro achieves end-to-end connectivity, passenger footfall is expected to increase significantly.

Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation officials said that commercial operation of the metro train began on December 21, and on the first day, 6,568 passengers traveled between the various metro stations of the Priority Corridor. On December 22, the number of passengers dropped to 2,896. On December 23, the third day of commercial operation, only 2,163 people traveled on the metro.
