Arunachal: Devastating fire engulfs homes and granaries

Itanagar: In a tragic turn of events, at least four houses and a granary were destroyed in a massive fire in Sido village of East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. According to C Joseph, officer-in-charge of Ruksin Commissionerate, one person suffered injuries due to the incident which occurred on Monday. Due to the magnitude of the fire, property worth thousands of rupees including important documents and food grains was burnt to ashes. Local authorities along with fire fighters and residents brought the fire under control. Preliminary findings point to electrical short circuits as the root cause of the devastating inferno, highlighting the need for better electrical safety measures in the area. Amid the crisis, East Siang assistant commissioner Tai Taggu, Lok Sabha member Tapir Gao and Pasighat West deputy Ninong Ering immediately responded to the crisis. He visited the spot and immediately delivered relief material to the families affected by the disaster.
