Dehradun: A swindler cheated Rs 6 lakh from an elderly person in Patel Nagar. He spoke to the old man in the voice of his nephew living in New Zealand. After being cheated, the old man lodged a complaint at Patel Nagar police station but his report was not registered.
On this he reached the SSP office. After action from there, a case was registered against unknown accused in Patel Nagar police station. Victim Dehradun: A thug cheated Rs 6 lakh from an elderly person from Patel Nagar. He had talked to the old man in the voice of his nephew living in New Zealand. Kartar Singh told in the complaint given in the SSP office that on January 30, he received a call from an unknown number.
The caller introduced himself as Jasbir Singh, nephew of the victim. Said, the caller’s voice was coming from a nephew living in New Zealand. He asked to send the photo of the check copy. Said that with this he will transfer Rs 9.5 lakh to his account. Before this he gave an account number in which he asked for six lakh rupees.

Kartar Singh told that he transferred the money but despite waiting till the evening, Rs 9.5 lakh did not come. Then he called his nephew and asked. His nephew told that he neither called him nor did he need money. Singh told that he then came to know that someone had committed fraud. After this, a complaint was lodged in Patel Nagar police station on 31 January.
From there he was sent to cyber police station. When he went to Cyber police station, he was asked to go back to Patel Nagar police station. When the victim met the elderly SSP, he took cognizance of the complaint and ordered the Patel Nagar police station to register a case. Inspector Kamal Kumar Lunthi said that a case has been registered against unknown accused on the complaint of the elderly.
