Telangana News: BJYM demands job calendar, Reddy condemns lathicharge

Hyderabad. Hundreds of BJYM workers staged a protest in front of the TGPSC office and urged the Congress government to solve the problems of unemployed youths, release job calendar and announce notification of mega DSC for recruitment of 25,000 teachers and release notification of Group 2 and Group 3. Led by BJYM state president Seevella Mahendra, BJYM workers marched towards the Public Service Commission office at Nampally through various routes and tried to stage a sit-in.

A large number of security forces foiled their attempt and hundreds of workers were detained and taken to other places in buses. Many workers were seriously injured in the melee. They were demanding the government to make 1:100 students in Group 1 preliminary exam eligible to appear in the main exam, announce mega DSC for recruitment of 25,000 teachers and increase the number of posts in the Group 2 and Group 3 notification. Mahender alleged that the Congress has failed to fulfil even a single promise made to students before the assembly elections. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has completely forgotten the plight of unemployed youths after coming to power.

He warned that if the government fails to fulfil the election promises to students, the BJYM will further intensify the agitation. Meanwhile, Telangana BJP president and Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy condemned the indiscriminate lathicharge on BJYM workers. The use of force by the police on students protesting peacefully is inhuman. He alleged that the Congress had given an open letter signed by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi to the people, promising six guarantees to the people within 100 days, but not a single promise was fulfilled in six months of coming to power. BJP leader A Maheshwar Reddy visited the hospitals where the injured party workers and students were undergoing treatment. He enquired about the health of the injured workers from the doctors and urged them to provide them good medical care.
