Tesla Model Y facelift model spotted while road testing in India

Tesla has been in talks with India government for some months for its entry into this country. Amid a tariff war started by US President Donald Trump, the company is still figuring out its entry in India. The Tesla model Y facelift is expected to be the first model that will be introduced by the company and it was spotted while testing in India, initially reported Autocar India.
According to the report, the test mule of the Tesla Model Y facelift was in a fully camouflaged avatar. The model gets new split headlight arrangement along with refreshed full-width LED light at the front and rear. When it comes to the interior, the Model Y gets a central 15.4-inch touchscreen along with 8.0-inch touchscreen for the rear passengers.
The Model Y is available in two variants and that includes RWD and Long-Range AWD. The RWD variant gets a claimed range of 719km while the AWD variant gets a range of 662km (both according to CLTC). In terms of acceleration, the variant goes from 0-100kmph in 4.3 seconds (AWD). The RWD model can achieve the feat in 5.9 seconds.
When it comes to sales, Tesla plans that its initial models will be CBUs (completely built units). The company is also exploring contract manufacturing rather than going for a completely new infrastructure setup.
It is interesting to see how Tesla manages to pitch its products (in terms of pricing) in India’s EV sector. Currently, the company is facing fall in demand in Europe as well as US. This is directly linked due to Elon Musk’s association with US President Donald Trump.
