Samadhi dispute: HC says if there is no death certificate, it will be considered unnatural death

Kerala: Where is the death certificate in Neyyattinkara Gopan Swamy’s mausoleum demolition dispute? The court also said that if there is no death certificate, it will have to come to the conclusion that it is an unnatural death. The court also said that if the death certificate is produced, all proceedings can be considered right now. This was the position of the court while considering the petition filed by Sulochana’s wife, who had made Thiruvananthapuram District Collector, RDO and police as opposing parties in the dispute related to the demolition of Neyyattinkara Gopan Swamy’s mausoleum.

The petition was considered by a bench of Justice CS Dias. The court said that what is happening right now is just a natural process. The investigation cannot be stopped or extended at the moment. The court accepted the petition on file and issued notice to the government to file a reply. At the same time, the High Court asked the petitioners why they are scared. The court also said that there is no need to interfere in the investigation at the moment. However, the lawyer appearing for the petitioners argued that the RDO’s order was not legal.

Meanwhile, the family is adamant that the samadhi cannot be demolished. Gopan Swami’s son Sananthan said that the final decision to demolish his father’s grave will be taken by the Hindu Aikyavedi. The Hindu Aikyavedi will decide on legal action. Sananthan also said that the decision to demolish the grave hurts religious sentiments.
