UP: Action against corruption is continuing. After the police station was caught extorting heavily in Ballia and the entire police station was suspended, now a constable and a constable have been arrested red handed taking bribe in Gorakhpur. Both of them were taking a bribe of ten thousand rupees in the name of settling a land dispute. A case of corruption has been registered in the Cantt police station against both the personnel posted at Ramnagar Kadjahan police post of Khorabar police station in Gorakhpur. They have also been suspended. In this case, the video of both of them arguing with the people also went viral. The arrested constable has been identified as Enam Khan, resident of Fatehpur Atwa of Nonhara police station area of Gazipur district and the constable has been identified as Suraj Singh, resident of Levrua of Fekna police station area of Ballia district.
According to the information, Dinanath, a resident of Kadjahan village, had complained about a land dispute at the Ramnagar Kadjahan police post of Khorabar 10 days ago. The investigation of this was being done by Diwan Enam Khan and constable Suraj Singh posted at the post and both were demanding a bribe of ten thousand rupees in the name of settlement. The victim complained about this to the in-charge of the Anti Corruption Police Station located at the Police Line. When the in-charge got the matter investigated, the complaint was found to be true. On Wednesday afternoon, Dinanath along with Inspector Subodh Kumar of Anti Corruption reached Motiram Adda intersection and called the Diwan and the constable to the tea shop to give the money.
15 minutes later, Diwan Enam Khan and constable Suraj Singh reached the shop. As soon as Dinanath gave them money while drinking tea, the Anti Corruption team caught them. After giving information about the arrest of the Diwan and the constable to the police station in-charge Khorabar as well as the SSP, the team brought them with them to the Cantt police station, where a case was registered along with interrogation. They have been kept in custody.
