2 Naxalites arrested for deadly attack on police

Bijapur. Police have arrested two Naxalites as part of the anti-Maoist operation being conducted in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Actually, the joint force of DRG Bijapur and Police Station Tarrem had gone out on patrol search towards Peddagellur, Chinnagelur, Gundam under Police Station Tarrem area, during which two Maoists were caught from Peddagellur.

It is being told that there was a reward of Rs 1 lakh each on both the Naxalites. Not only this, the arrested Maoists were involved in the incident of firing on STF and CARIPU party in Gundam forest on 08 February 2024. At the same time, a villager also died in this incident. Apart from this, one Maoist militia member Ashok Korsa has also been arrested.

Let us inform that a Maoist militia member Ashok Korsa was arrested from Farsegarh Bazar Para by the team of Farsegarh police station of the district. The captured Maoist was roaming around for recce of the police team. It is being told that the captured Maoist was involved in the incident of attacking the vehicle of the police station in-charge near Somanpalli on 15 May 2024 by blasting an IED.
