Nuapada: In a shocking incident, a youth reportedly died on Monday while he was playing a Kabaddi match in Nuapada district of Odisha. The incident took place in Tarbod village under Komna Block of the district.
The deceased Kabadi player has been identified as Khageshwar Rathia of Dudumchua village of Mahasamund district, Chhattisgarh.
As per reports, Tarbod Durga Puja Committee had organized a Kabaddi tournament. Today morning, Khageshwar was playing a match against Hatisara team of Nuapada district on behalf of Sonista Potapara team of Mahasamund district.
While the match was underway he suddenly fell ill. The organizing committee and the players rushed him to Tarbod Health Center for treatment. However, as his health condition worsened he was then shifted to Nuapada District Headquarter Hospital. However, there he passed away as the doctors declared him dead.
A pal of gloom has descended the area following the death of the player.
