Woman drugs boyfriend’s fiancée during engagement ceremony in Odisha
Kendrapara: In an unfortunate incident, a woman reportedly drugged her boyfriend’s fiancée during his engagement ceremony in Odisha’s Kendrapara district today.
One Kaifat Ali of Damarpur village had reportedly gone to Pattamundai along with other family members for the engagement ceremony of his daughter. As per their rituals, they wore ring to her fiancée and returned home. However, they were surprised and shocked with what they heard after reaching home.
They were told that while the engagement ceremony was underway, a woman, identified as Jasmin Bibi alias Muni, reportedly reached Ali’s house at Damarpur village with a youth. She allegedly offered a spiked drink to his daughter and forced her to drink.
Soon, the neighbours rushed to Ali’s house as his daughter cried for help after experiencing burning sensation on her abdomen and throat post consuming the spiked drink. Immediately, some villagers rushed her to Pattamundai hospital for treatment. Later, she was shifted to the Kendrapara District Headquarter Hospital (DDH) as her condition deteriorated.
Meanwhile, tension prevailed in the area as some locals detained Muni and the youth, who had accompanied her, and wanted to know her intension of providing spiked drink to her boyfriend’s fiancée.
Muni claimed that the youth (the fiancée of Ali’s daughter) was in a relationship with her for several years and she did this to teach him a lesion.
