Korba. In Kashi Nagar of the district, troubled by daily disputes with his wife and her repeated visits to her maternal home, the husband committed suicide by hanging himself. At the time of the incident, the wife had left to go to her maternal home, while the son had gone to the shop to buy goods. The case is of Civil Line Police Station area.
According to information, 33-year-old Shankar Pal, a resident of Civil Line Police Station area, used to set up a tea-snack stall at Chowpatty, located at Open Theater Ghantaghar. He did not get along with his wife Shobhana Pal and every day there used to be a dispute between the two over one thing or the other. Shankar was also troubled by his wife’s repeated visits to her maternal home. On Saturday also there was a dispute between the two husband and wife and the wife left to go to her maternal home. After this, Shankar sent his son to the shop on the pretext of bringing some goods and hanged himself from the ceiling fan.
On receiving the information, the police reached here, took the dead body down from the gallows and sent it for postmortem. Police said that in the initial investigation, the matter of the person being a habitual drunkard and fighting with his wife is coming to the fore. Also, it has been learned that he was troubled by his wife’s repeated visits to her maternal home. Police has registered a case under 174 CrPC in this matter.
