Widow tortured at in-laws’ house, FIR lodged against mother-in-law, father-in-law and sister-in-law

Bilaspur: A widow living in Sarkanda Police Station area asked for documents from her in-laws to get a death certificate after her husband’s death. On this, the in-laws got angry and first beat the widow and then threw her out of the house along with her children. The woman reached the police with her frightened children and lodged a complaint. The police have registered a crime against the accused in-laws. chhattisgarh

Mithlesh Baghel, resident of Nagoi in Sarkanda, husband late Ramnarayan (32) works as a labourer. While complaining to the police, she told that she got married in the year 2011. She has two children. Some time ago, her husband was taken to Raipur Mekahara due to water filling in his lungs, where he died during treatment. After the death, she needed some documents to get the death certificate, which she asked for from her sister-in-law Purnima.

On this, her sister-in-law, mother-in-law Laxmin, father-in-law Ramsnehi, brother-in-law Rambharos Baghel, brother-in-law Ishwar beat her up and then threw her out of the house along with the children. After which she went to her relative’s house. On the basis of the woman’s complaint, the police have registered a case against her in-laws under sections 115 (2), 296, 3 (5), 351 (2).
