Why ASKA-40 country liquor’s price not increased in 5 years, MLA asks in Odisha Assembly
Bhubaneswar: A MLA wanted to know why the price of ASKA-40 was not increased in the last 5 years. He put a question in this regard in the Assembly today.
As per reports, MLA Saroj Padhi put a written question in Odisha Assembly on Wednesday in which he asked why the price of country liquor ASKA – 40 was not increased in the last five years.
In response, the Cooperative Minister said that the Aska Cooperative Sugar Industry established in Aska was mainly producing sugar. But the production cost of sugar is higher than the selling price.
Therefore, as an alternative to make up for the loss, country liquor is being prepared here and supplied to the Odisha State Beverage Corporation.
For this, the Odisha State Beverage Corporation provides the official fixed price of this country liquor. Currently, the maximum selling price per bottle of this liquor is fixed at Rs. 60.
It is worth noting that today, despite the unprecedented increase in the market price of everything, price of ASKA-40 has not been increased even after almost five years. The last time the price was hiked in 2019.
