Were to supply gold and silver worth Rs 22 lakh in Raipur, two arrested with car

Mahasamund. Sighoda police has seized 23.790 kg silver ingots and 81 grams of gold jewelery worth Rs 22 lakh 31 thousand 280 from a car transporting gold and silver ingots and jewellery. Actually, during vehicle checking at Rehtikhol check post, Sighoda police stopped EcoSport car number CG 04 MS 6711 coming from Orissa. There were two persons in the car, who were going from Sonpur Orissa to Raipur.

When the police checked their vehicle, they found 23.790 kg silver ingot and 81 grams of gold jewelery from the car. After which the police asked both the persons for valid documents of gold and silver, but both of them did not have any valid documents. Police have seized the gold and silver under Section 102 IPC and handed it over to DRI for further investigation. It is noteworthy that this is the third action the police has taken in the last one month in the case of transportation of gold and silver.
