Power outage in Anakapalle leaves 64 Konda Dora tribe families facing severe water shortages

Andhra Pradesh: Power supply has been disrupted for the past two days in Z. Jogampeta village, located in the Cheemalapadu Panchayat of Ravikamatham Mandal in Anakapalle district of Visakhapatnam. As a result, 64 families of the Konda Dora tribe living in the village are facing a severe drinking water crisis.

Due to the power outage, the village’s water tank has completely failed. With no water supply from the tank, villagers are facing a severe shortage of drinking water. Water is not available even for daily needs.

The situation has become so dire that villagers are forced to travel to distant areas to fetch water. People are forced to travel to natural springs at Peddagadda and Kalyanalova ponds. Traveling long distances to fetch water during this hot summer has become extremely difficult.

Villagers say that the ongoing power cuts are increasing their hardships. The water tank’s failure has completely disrupted the entire village’s water supply system. Children, the elderly, and women are facing the most difficulties.

Villagers have demanded the administration immediately restore power supply and streamline the drinking water system. They say the situation could worsen if a solution isn’t found soon.

According to locals, water demand already increases during the summer season, and the power outage has exacerbated the crisis. Villagers also reported leaving their daily chores and traveling long distances in search of water, which is impacting their livelihoods.

The administration is expected to restore power and restore drinking water supply soon, providing relief to the villagers.
