Kerala: Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi along with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra left for Wayanad in Kerala from Delhi airport on Tuesday. Priyanka Gandhi, the party’s candidate for the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll, will file her nomination papers on Wednesday in the presence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. Meanwhile, expressing confidence in Priyanka Gandhi’s candidature, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that she will emerge as a passionate advocate for the needs of Wayanad and a powerful voice in Parliament.
“The people of Wayanad have a special place in my heart, and I cannot imagine a better representative for them than my sister Priyanka Gandhi. I am confident that she will become a passionate advocate for the needs of Wayanad and a powerful voice in Parliament. Join us tomorrow, 23 October, when she files her nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. Together, let us ensure that Wayanad continues to be lovingly represented,” Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter. In a separate post on Twitter, Rahul Gandhi said, “The people of India have saved the Constitution and democracy. The deprived and poor population of the country stands with India to protect their rights. Congratulations to all alliance partners and the lion workers of the Congress.”
