Kerala: Minister V.N. has opposed the decision of the Union Finance Ministry to pay the viability gap fund that the Central government intends to allocate to the Vizhinjam International Port in multiples. Vasavan said in a press conference in Kottayam that the Central government is constantly ignoring it.
The Vizhinjam project has not received government support yet. The current situation is that the Center is not giving anything it deserves. There is no help even in times of distress. There is also a suspicion of a vindictive approach. Vizhinjam is not a private venture. It is a joint project with the state government. The minister also said that the customs duty will be sent to the Center.
