Nuapada: In a tragic incident, two bothers along with their uncle were killed in a road accident on National Highway No. 353 near Daldali under Lakhna police station limits in Nuapada district this evening.
The road accident took place when the trio, identified as Guddu Sabar and his nephews Shyam Sabar and Chatti Sabar of Karalapada village in Palsipani panchayat, were returning home after watching a stage programme on a bike which was hit by an unidentified vehicle.
Some locals rescued all three of them in a very critical condition and rushed them to the Nuapada Hospital for treatment. However, the doctors who attended them declared each of them brought dead.
Later, a team of cops from the Lakhna police station reached the spot of accident and started an investigation into the mishap, said sources adding that they also visited the hospital and sent the bodies for postmortem.
The bodies will be handed over to the family members after completion of the postmortem, informed the sources.
Efforts by the cops are also is underway to identify the vehicle which fled the spot after causing the road accident that led to the deaths of Guddu Sabar, Shyam Sabar and Chatti Sabar.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on Karalapada village and its locality following the tragic and untimely deaths of the trio of the same family.
