Two arrested with 19 grams of brown sugar in Jatni

Bhubaneswar: Jatni Police in Odisha’s Khurda district arrested two persons and forwarded them to the court on Monday on charges of possessing 19 grams of brown sugar.

Acting on a reliable information, a team of cops from the Jatani Police station led by SI Abhinash Chand conducted a raid near the Khandual Temple situated close to the Centurian University at about 6.30 AM and apprehended two persons for peddling brown sugar.

The police team also seized 19 grams of brown sugar from the possession of the accused persons whom them identified as Chabi alias Sudhira Nayak and Subash Pattnayak. Police also registered a Jatni PS Case No – 164, dt. 14/04/2025, U/s – 21(b) NDPS Act.

During interrogation, police found out that a case Mahila PS Case No – 37, dt. 03.05.2018, U/s – 294/323/324/494/498-A/506/34 IPC was registered against Subash Pattnayak.

Likewise, five different cases also have been registered against Sudhira Nayak at Badagada Police station. They are Badagada PS Case No-684, dt. 18.10.2024, U/s 309(4) BNS, Badagada PS Case No – 10, dt. 07.01.2017, U/s – 323/341/354/498-A/506/34 IPC/Sec – DP Act, Badagada PS Case No – 70, dt. 22.03.2017, U/s – 294/323/341/506/34 IPC, Badagada PS Case No 48, dt. 24.01.2023, U/s-427/506 IPC and Badagada PS Case No – 20, dt. 06.03.2018, U/s-302/450/34 IPC.
