Kerala: The accused in the murder of a woman in a lodge room in Eranjipalam was brought to Kozhikode. The accused will be produced in court today. Police have arrested Abdul Sanoof (28), a resident of Thiruvilwamala, a friend of Faseela, a resident of Vettathur in Malappuram, from Chennai for strangling her to death. The Special Investigation Team detained the accused from a lodge room in Avadi, Chennai. Police said that Sanoof has confessed that he killed Faseela because she had lodged a complaint of molestation against him. Faseela had taken a room in the lodge to resolve the harassment complaint lodged earlier.
During the conversation, the two had an argument and when the woman raised her voice, she was strangled to death. Sanoof used to work as a bus driver earlier. Police said that this is how he got acquainted with the woman. The accused had removed his moustache to deceive the police. He kept changing his shirt frequently to avoid getting caught in the CCTV footage. Sanf, who reached Bengaluru by train from Palakkad on Tuesday night, left for Chennai when he realised that the police were following him. On Thursday, he reached a lodge in Avadi and took a room. The mobile phone used earlier was switched off. A SIM card taken from Karnataka was used. When the accused called one of them, their actions became clear. Based on the information provided by the cyber cell, the police team reached the lodge at around 6 pm on Friday and arrested him.
On Tuesday night, the police got CCTV footage of Sanf going to Bengaluru by train from Palakkad. The police have been following Sanf since getting the footage. The police are also investigating whether they got help from anyone to hide and get the SIM card. Faseela and Sanf took a room together in a lodge in Eranjipalam. Faseela was found dead on Tuesday morning. The investigation was conducted in three teams consisting of policemen specializing in crime investigation, whose focus was on the states of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
