Bhubaneswar: People of Odisha are ready to vote in a few days, campaigning and appeal to people to vote is at its peak in the state. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to conduct a marathon campaign in three districts of the state today.
As per the schedule, the PM is scheduled to attend public meetings in Kandhamal, Bolangir and Bargarh today. PM Modi will attend public meetings in Kandhamal at 10.30 am, in Bolangir at 12.15 pm and in Bargarh at 1.45 pm. After this, senior BJP leaders are going to attend a public meeting in Chatra, Jharkhand at 5 pm.
Let us tell you here that the PM is on a two-day tour of Odisha to campaign for the upcoming elections. Yesterday (May 10) PM Narendra Modi held a mega road show in Bhubaneswar. The Prime Minister started his road show from the state party office at around 8.30 pm and ended at Vani Vihar at 9.30 pm.
A huge crowd, including party leaders and workers, turned up and stood on both sides of the 2.5 km long road to welcome him, shouting slogans, waving party flags, holding his cut-outs and the party’s election symbol lotus.
Odisha Police had made heavy security arrangements with the help of Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos. Barricades were installed on both sides of the road from MasterCanteen intersection to Vani Vihar and the area was declared a no-fly zone.
It is noteworthy that the first phase of elections in the state will be held on May 13. Voting will be held in four phases in Odisha and will conclude on June 1. The results of the elections will be declared on June 4.
