Tirupati: New Collector Venkateshwar takes charge

Tirupati: Newly appointed District Collector Dr. Venkateswara Sleejamala assumed charge at his chamber in the Collectorate here on Thursday. Joint Collector Dhyanchandra, MLA Arani Srinivasulu, Tirupati Municipal Commissioner Aditi Singh and other district officials were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Collector Venkateswara said that the newly formed Tirupati district comprising 7 Assembly constituencies is a mix of rural areas, towns and industrial areas which require a priority-based approach for all-round development. “With the support of the people, representatives, leaders and district revenue and mandal level officials, I will try my best to take the district on a progressive path,” he said. He sought support from all sections. Mentioning that the Kharif season has begun in the district, the Collector said that they would take steps to provide financial assistance like crop loans to farmers for agriculture. He said healthcare measures would also be given priority, especially for prevention of diseases like dengue. He said that 90% of the pensions were distributed to the beneficiaries on the first day itself, assuring that the welfare schemes will reach every eligible poor.
