Bilaspur. In Bilaspur, gangs of thieves are continuously targeting deserted houses and shops. Once again the thieves committed the crime at three places simultaneously. By raiding the house of a mobile shop, railway loco pilot and teacher, they made away with goods worth lakhs including cash. The team of Anti Cyber and Crime Unit formed to investigate property related crimes including theft is proving unsuccessful in catching the thieves.
The first incident is of Sakri police station area. Where Shivendra Kori (33), a resident of Hari Vihar Colony located at Maharishi School Road, Mangala, runs a mobile shop in Sakri with his brother Shailendra Kori in the name of Maruti Mobile & Enterprises. Like everyday, he closed the shop on the night of 21st June and went to his home. When he reached the shop the next morning, the shutter lock was broken. After searching the shop, it was found that Rs 1 lakh 30 thousand and 37 mobiles of different companies, including accessories and other items were missing from the counter. The incident was informed to the police. As soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation.
The thieves switched off the CCTV camera installed in the shop before the incident and took out the DVR. So that, even the police cannot see the CCTV. CCTV is expected to identify and catch thieves. This is the reason why the thieves took out the DVR and took it with them. In such a situation, the police is now scanning the footage from the cameras installed in the nearby shops.
