Why is Bakrid celebrated?
It is believed that Hazrat Ibrahim is going to sacrifice his son on the orders of Allah. When Hazrat Ibrahim went to use the knife, Dumba was present in place of his son and his son Hazrat Ismail was safe. Since then this day of sacrifice came to be celebrated as Bakrid and Eid-ul-Azha.
