Theft during devotional program, mastermind arrested

Dhamtari. Nagari police has got success, the absconding main accused of theft during devotional program in Nagari has been arrested, during the devotional program organized on 07.10.2025 in Jain temple, Nagari under police station Nagari area, applicant Manoj Kumar Jain, resident of ward number 10, Linepara Nagari, along with his family had gone to the program at 09:30 pm after locking the house.

On returning home at around 11:30 pm, he saw that the Godrej cupboard was open. The following items were stolen from the cupboard: Cash: ₹2,15,000/- Silver bracelet: 01 piece, Silver anklets: 08 pieces, Silver coin: 01 piece, Total value: approximately ₹2,65,000/- The Nagari police station immediately registered a case under crime number 47/2025, sections 331(4), 305, 3(5) BNS and started investigation.

The main accused was absconding since the incident. The Nagari police was continuously searching for him on the basis of informants and technical evidence. Then, on receiving information that the accused was at the bus stand, the team immediately arrested him from the bus stand. The main accused in the case, Hiteshwar Markam alias Pradhan, father Anjor Singh, age 23 years, resident of Ward No. 02 Nagari, was absconding since the incident. On the basis of informant’s information, the Nagari police arrested him from the Nagari bus stand.

During interrogation, the accused admitted that he, Jeetu Khare, Tamendra Yadav, and Lucky Gupta had gone to commit the crime on a Splendor Plus CG 06 GR 6940 motorcycle. He received a share of ₹30,000 after the theft, which he spent. The motorcycle used in the crime was also seized at the accused’s location. The accused was duly arrested and sent to jail on judicial remand.

(2) Pushpjeet alias Jitu Khare, father Kiran Khare, age 19, resident of Jangalpara, Nagari

(3) Lucky Gupta, father Santosh Gupta, age 19, resident of Jangalpara, near the school, Nagari
