Bhilai. CISF has caught Akshay Kumar Sahu, a vicious thief who was trying to enter Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) through the gate pass of another BSP employee. CISF personnel caught the accused and handed him over to Bhatti police. Bhatti police station has taken action against the accused under section 419. According to the information, the incident happened late Tuesday evening. CISF jawan ASI Tulsi Das and lady constable Namita Naurange were on duty at the main gate of BSP. Then at around 7.20 pm, accused Akshay Kumar Sahu (37), resident of Maroda station, reached there. Namita Naurange, posted there, checked the gate pass and found someone else’s photo on it.
That ID card was in the name of SMS-3 employee Ravi Kumar. When he was asked about this, he left the bike there and started running away. CISF personnel caught him. The soldiers handed him over to Bhatti police station. On Thursday, accused Akshay Kumar Sahu was arrested under Section 419 and sent to jail in judicial custody. Further investigation is ongoing. When the lady constable on duty asked for the ID card of the accused, there was a difference between the photo on the ID card and the face of the accused. When he was caught, a bike and a cable cutter were also recovered from him. During interrogation, the accused admitted that he was preparing to enter the plant with a cutter and steal the cable. Even before this, the police had arrested the accused in a theft case only.
