The 13 lakh robbery has been solved; the accused has been arrested from Jharkhand.

Jashpur. Police in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh have cracked the case of a Rs 13 lakh robbery from a truck driver. Police have arrested one accused involved in this sensational incident from Jharkhand, while other accused are still at large. Police claim that the remaining accused will also be arrested soon.
Rs 13 lakh looted from truck driver
This incident took place in the City Kotwali police station area of ​​Jashpur district. The incident is reported to have occurred on December 2nd. The victim, Subhash Dev Kumar (25 years old), is a resident of Rohtas district in Bihar. He is currently working as a driver for truck number CG-14-MT-6190 belonging to Ramesh Agrawal, a businessman from Pathalgaon. Subhash Dev Kumar had filed a complaint at the police station on December 2nd stating that he had been robbed. According to the complaint, he had gone from Pathalgaon to Ranchi (Jharkhand) on November 30th with a load of jaggery. After unloading the goods there, on December 1st, at the owner’s instruction, he collected Rs 10 lakh in cash from Shivam Chhaparia’s shop in Ranchi and Rs 3 lakh in cash from another businessman, Nilesh Mishra’s shop. Thus, he had a total of Rs 13 lakh in cash.
The conspiracy was hatched after reconnaissance
The robbery plan was pre-planned. The accused knew that the truck driver had a large sum of money. Interrogation revealed that the accused had already conducted reconnaissance of the truck in Ranchi. After that, the accused were following the truck in an Alto car. Subhash Dev Kumar said that he was returning from Ranchi with a load of potatoes towards Kunkuri and Pathalgaon. As it was night, he stopped at the Raidih petrol pump in Jharkhand. The next day, on December 2nd, at around 5 am, he again set off for his destination.
Beaten and dragged into the forest
At around 6 am, when the truck driver stopped his truck near the power house at Balachhapar on National Highway-43 in Jashpur district to relieve himself, four people came from behind. The accused first assaulted him and started questioning him about the money. Then, two of the accused dragged him towards the forest, while the other two climbed into the truck’s cabin. The accused took out Rs 13 lakh in cash from a bag kept under the seat in the cabin. After the incident, all the accused fled in a car.
Identification of the accused through CCTV and interrogation
Upon learning of the incident, the truck driver informed his owner and then filed a complaint with the police. The police registered a case and started an investigation. Footage from nearby CCTV cameras was examined, and suspected individuals were interrogated. During the investigation, one of the accused was identified as Pawan Kumar Paswan, a resident of Jharkhand. Following instructions from Senior Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh, a police team was formed and sent to Garhwa district in Jharkhand.
One accused arrested, confesses to the crime
The police apprehended Pawan Kumar Paswan from Jharkhand and brought him to Jashpur. Truck driver Subhash Dev Kumar also identified the accused. During questioning, the accused confessed to his crime. The accused revealed that he, along with four other accomplices, had planned to rob the money from the truck from Ranchi itself. They already knew that the truck driver was carrying a large sum of money. As per their plan, they were following the truck from Ranchi and, finding an opportunity near Balachhapar in Jashpur, committed the crime.
Search for other accused continues
Currently, the police have arrested Pawan Kumar Paswan and sent him to jail on judicial remand. The police say that the other accused involved in the case have been identified and are currently absconding. Raids are being conducted continuously for their arrest. Police officials say that the entire gang will be arrested soon, and the looted money will also be recovered. The police have breathed a sigh of relief after solving this case and have vowed to increase vigilance against criminal incidents on the highway.
